Itching of the outside of the Vagina and Anus. Please help!?

Rach Asked: Itching of the outside of the Vagina and Anus. Please help!?

I have been dealing with itching of the outside of the vagina and anus since about mid-late July of this year. After trying Monistat, Hydrocortisone, and Aloe Vera creams, I decided to make my first appointment with an OB-GYN earlier this month. I was diagnosed with a Strep infection and was prescribed Clindamycin and Diflucan to counteract a possible yeast infection. I took that and the itching still persisted. So I went back, but I found out that the Strep cleared up. The redness was all gone but the itching still was there! My OB-GYN then prescribed me Kectokonazole to treat a possible yeast infection that wasn't knocked out by the Diflucan. I do admit, I took the antibiotic about a week ago and I don't have as much itching in the anus, but the outside of the vagina is still itching about just as much as before. I was told it may take a awhile for this antibiotic to kick in, but I would really like this to be fully cleared up. I don't want to have to deal with this any longer.

It sounds like you have herpes. Check your piss flaps for any signs of irritation.

sometimes if you scratch delicate skin you can damage it and while it heals it can become itchy too. try to not scratch it at all if it itches rub it instead, maybe try some aloe vera gel on it until it has cleared up completely. If you are sexually active have you tested for a possible STI? x

Keep taking the K-zole as directed though the entire length of the prescription. It does take a while to work, but from your description, it is starting to work.Keep taking it.If the vaginal itching is still present at the end of the script, the doctor will likely renew it for one more round.

I'm not a doctor, and I'm not really sure but is it possible that your doctors could be missing something? it's possible the medicine they're proscribing to you is making your problem worse. Or maybe its happening from something your wearing. I don't know, but I know what it's like to have UTI's and YTI's they suck. I hope they find out what's wrong soon. I think you just go back to the OB-GYN and tell them your consern, tell them that you are still having itchy feelings down there. And be completely honest with them if they ask if you are sexually active, and other stuff, they can't help if you don't tell them everything that's going on, if you haven't already done so. I hope I helped a lil bit
