I am 13 weeks pregnant and 3 weeks ago I got a yeast infection.Under my doctors advise I took the six day cream treatment.It seemed to work at first but a few days after treatment my symptoms returned.My OB now told me to take the oral capsule but everything I am reading is telling me that you should never take the oral dose while pregnant.I have not taken it yet because I am scared.Has anyone else ever been prescribed the oral capsule while pregnant?

Creams are okay, oral capsules no. Just tell your doctor your uncomfortable taking pills, and you would like to stay with creams. Vagisil cream helps with itching, and discomfort also, and its safe. Good Luck

No you aren't supposed to take the yeast infection pill while pregnant.It was one of the prescribed meds I took when my baby died inutero.They have a prescription gel you can use instead.Ask for that.You can also get pure yogurt or acidophiles pills to take but check with your ob/gyn before using the acidophiles pills.There are some home remedies that involve putting the pure yogurt in your vagina but I'm not so sure about trying it.It has to be pure.Dannon or yoplait will not do it.Stony field farm makes a pure yogurt.You should be able to find it in any grocery store.

The Dr told me to get Monistate 7day cream, and to not get the overnight 1day cream because its too strong. I used it for the first 3days and got worse so then my Dr gave me a prescription called Terconazole cream, and it worked the second I inserted the first tube of cream. When I wasnt pregnant I would always get the one day pill to clear it up. But being preggers had to get the cream. Good Luck…

They should probably test you for BV I'm 26 weeks and I took a two week antibiotic..it can cause preterm labor and has similar side effects to a yeast infection.
