So I am in a relationship with a girl that has genital/oral herpes. I had protected sex with her when she thought that she had a yeast infection. I've read some on line that a yeast infection can be confused with the occurrence of a outbreak. Side note: She has had herpes for 3 years. A couple days later she started her period. I have also heard that the start of your menstrual cycle can bring on a outbreak. Is that true too? I am worried that I may have messed up and had sex with her at a HORRIBLE time. She is on Valtrex but I don't know if that would matter in this case.
