Why does my vagina feel funny?
Asked: Why does my vagina feel funny?
I started my period about a week ago and I noticed like right where the opening to my vagina is on one side it felt like a burning sensation kind of. It doesn't hurt really bad, but I can feel it so it is annoying. Me being a hypochondriac I'm thinking the worst possible, even though I have a feeling it is not the worst possible. I checked for bumps and nothing. Now my period is going off and I notice the burning is going away. I don't believe it is an STD because I've been with the same person for 6 years. Could it have been a yeast infection or UTI that is clearing up on its own?
That's similar to something that happened to me. It was burning and then became itchy. Yours is just burning but that could be a mild yeast infection. If symptoms like burning, itchy and bumps appear, it's a yeast infection. Otherwise, wait it out and see if symptoms increase.
More than likely it is a Yeast infection. If there is a small cut try applying an antibacterial ointment, and eat things like -> Beans, Broccoli, Brussels sprouts Cabbage, Cauliflower, Celery, Cucumbers Green pepper, Kale, Lettuce Onion, radishes, Parsley, Peas, Rocket or arugulla Spinach, Tomatoes.
Get some yogurt and also incorporate garlic into your meals, as this helps prevent future breakout.
A fairly distinctive way to tell it is a yeast infection is by a small amount of discharge that is not normal (milky white or kinda half liquid/solid jello-like mush).
If a bump or small bumps appear then you may wish to be tested for HSV-1 or 2 as you may have contracted them from sexual intercourse.
I always recommend seeing a physician for confirmation and they can prescribe any meds for such things but hopefully this helps.
I actually thing it's just your period making your vagina sensitive.
Right before my period, I can sometimes get painful and burning / itching on my lips in the opening of my vagina and even on the clitoris.
I feel really sensitive too and my doctor confirmed to me that my periods are just irritating me a bit.
You can also feel pain or burning sensations when you put too much tampons especially near the end of your period when you aren't having that much blood anymore. They irritate your skin.
I can tell you one thing, usually infections do not clear up on their own. Yeast and UTI's need to be treated. You'd still be having symptoms if it was an infection I'm almost sure of that !
